"Teachers make a goddamn difference! Now what about you?" Taylor Mali is passionate about how you can't judge someone by how much they make in his poem "What Teachers Make". "Those who can do, do; and those who can't, teach." is a bold statement by a dinner guest at Taylor Mali's house who continues "I mean, you’re a teacher, Taylor. Be honest. What do you make?" Taylor responds with an aggressive answer that no one expecting. "And I wish he hadn’t done that— asked me to be honest-- because, you see, I have this policy about honesty and ass-‐kicking: if you ask for it, then I have to let you have it." Taylor goes on about how makes children work with their best abilities, how he makes them make no mistakes, and how he makes them use their brains so that they can follow their hearts. The point of this poem is to never judge someone by how much they make. He uses humor to catch your attention and get the message across.
"Hip Hop" by Beau Sia is a very important poem to society these days. Hip Hop is one of the most popular music industries but how is it going downhill? Racial slurs got out of hand. ""Damn, she’s fly/high, with chinky eyes" and "Chinky-eyed Korean/ spy and if I’ll buy.” I don’t understand the words. Why don’t you teach me? Is there a word for the eyes of Puerto Ricans?" "Yo, is it cool now to use racial slurs to talk about someone’s physical features? Like is that what’s hip? Are there rock songs about n-word asses? Country songs about w-back hair? Pop songs about a woman’s rhymes-with-bike nose? I wanna know!" It's not okay to call someone a rude word just because of their appearance. They are the same human being you are but just with different features. This is a quite powerful poem.

Rachel is a star. She shines brighter than your future will ever be. She is the person you will always wish you ended up being. All the dreams you have ever dreamed, Rachel has accomplished. She has climbed to the highest heights, and the lowest lows. There is no understanding Rachel. If she were to list all of her success it would take 376 years. Rachel has been on every square inch of the world and almost finished walking all of Mars. Rachel single-handedly built the Eiffel tower, Mount Rushmore, the Stone Henge and Yellow Stone National Park. Rachel is like the wind; she is always there but you can never see her. She has won every professional sport cup, every Nobel Prize, every contest, and has a diploma in every subject. Rachel invented everything you use today, from the screen you're reading this on, to the simple light bulb on your ceiling. Rachel goes out to help in the soup kitchen every week, it takes her mind off of being the most amazing person in the world and makes her think of helping others. On the weekends Rachel goes out to the rink to play hockey, no one is able to score on her but once in a while she'll let one or two goals in just to make the other team feel like they have a chance. Rachel is the person you'll always wish you were and maybe if you're lucky one day, you'll feel her brush by her shoulder.

Dear Inspector Clouseau:
Due to the death of, Ada Artlover, you have confronted me to ask a few questions about my reasoning for saving Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa in the unfortunate fire breakout in The Louvre. First, I would like to say thank you for all of the fame and fortune from saving the Mona Lisa; my condolences go out to Ada's family. The reasons for saving the Mona Lisa rather than dear Ada, is that the Mona Lisa has a lot more value than Ada. Ada was 92 years old, pushing 93 and, not to be disrespectful, she was going to pass away sooner than later.
The Mona Lisa is a huge historic piece of art. Being with this world for over 500 years, I feel the Mona Lisa was the right decision to make. The Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world. Classified as "priceless", this painting is a major part of history and the coming future of this world and our children's education. Mona Lisa has been stolen many, many times and being a historic piece that cannot ever be replaced I felt like my decision was the correct one.
Leonardo used a pyramid design to place the woman simply and calmly in the space of the painting. Her folded hands form the front corner of the pyramid. This makes the top half of Mona Lisa stand out more. All of the magnificent detail is mind blowing and just utterly beautiful. No one has been able to paint a painting exactly like this one. The way her eyes sit make them look like they are following you everywhere. Not knowing Ada as well as I could have, my conscience just told me to take the painting rather than save the little old lady's life. Ada was a very nice lady who had two beautiful daughters, and a bunch of grandchildren, and sadly a widow. My apologies go out to Ada's family and I hope they understand the importance of saving this historic, priceless painting.
Sincerely,
RF

Python of The West
The eldest woman of an old desert
town sits on her porch smoking yet another cigarette; her leather skin is used
to the scorching hot desert sun, only needing a straw hat to keep her cool.
Everyone knows this lady as the deceased governor’s daughter, but no one knows
the real story about her. Her life has always been a mystery; she hides in her
house all day peeking out the window to see how the town is doing. The only
time this woman leaves the house is to go buy another box of cigarettes.
Sitting outside on her porch, swaying back and forth on her rickety old rocking
chair, she takes another puff of her most regretted decision in her life. Most people say she is the Python of the West
because of her scaled skin, her small piercing eyes, and her slow creepy
movement. Her wiry hair, like the broom she uses to sweep away the ashes from
her cigarettes, blows in the hot silent wind. The whiskers on her chin resemble
of what a cactus feels like. The clothes on her body have never smelt new since
made; reeking of burnt tobacco. Her
fingers wrinkled, callused, and riddled with arthritis from the long period of
time she has been alive. This all tells a story about how long she has been around
but no one knows the real story of the Python of The West.
